To all psychology students, just because you study it does not mean you can now analyse the whole of the human race. Because I have dried flowers on the table does not mean I’m ‘macabre’, just because I wear a lot of black does it mean I have an obsession with death. The brain is too complex for your study to actually allow you to become mind-readers. Psychology is not a science, because it can not be proven.
none of science is proven its EMPIRICALLY SUPPORTED via observational and experimental data. if enough studies have shown external validities, it has the potential to become a law. there is no such thing as ‘scientific fact’, and hypotheses are constantly being reevaluated and readjusted. additionally, your statement is actually flat-out inaccurate. if you’ve bothered to look at ANY studies of ANY branch of psychology, you’d realize that people act differently in different situation due to a myriad of factors that are involved in the cognitive processes. you compare psychology to something like biology, which faces the same issues. biology can’t predict whether or not you’re going to get a disease, it can only tell you if you’re predisposed due to genetic material. why do some people exposed to the flu get the virus, while others do not? There’s a difference between armchair psychologists, and people actually trying to discover the mechanisms and heuristics behind human cognition and behavior, and how we can use it to prevent crime, disease, and other important issues like terrorism and mental disorders. check your shit.

So I heard about this story at a Zumbathon I attended this weekend. To my understanding, a 3 year old was bit by a pit bull and needs facial reconstruction surgery. The community however isn’t doing a very good job at helping because the mother and father of the child have a lot of tattoos.
All I could think when I heard this was - Tumblr wouldn’t stand for that.
